Trauma-Informed Couples Therapy in Greenville, SC & Online Across South Carolina
When your relationship feels stuck in the same painful patterns
We’ll slow things down, understand what’s really happening beneath the
surface, and create a new way forward, together.
Are you and your partner stuck in the same arguments, unable to break the cycle?
Have you completely stopped communicating with each other? Do you feel numb or ‘dead’ inside when you think of your relationship? Does intimacy feel unsatisfying or is it non-existent in your relationship?
If so, you’re not alone. And it doesn’t mean your relationship is beyond repair.
Hi, I’m Mary. Many couples come to me after trying traditional approaches that didn’t quite get to the root of what’s really going on.
Because often, it’s not just about communication—it’s about the deeper emotional patterns and past experiences shaping how you show up with each other.
My work is grounded in Developmental Couples Therapy, a trauma-informed approach that looks beneath the surface of conflict. Together, we explore how past relationships and life experiences may be influencing your current dynamic—so we can begin to shift the patterns of defensiveness, withdrawal, and disconnection.
Because how we show up with our partner isn’t random—it’s shaped by what we’ve been through. And when we take the time to understand and heal those deeper layers, real change becomes possible.
My Approach
I believe you are the expert in your own life and relationship.
My role is to guide and support you as we make sense of it together.
Our work together is collaborative and paced in a way that feels right for you.
In our sessions, we create space for honest, thoughtful exploration—looking at your emotional experiences, real-time responses, and the deeper feelings that may be harder to access or express.
This can include somatic awareness, reflection on how you’re experiencing situations in the moment, and open conversations about thoughts, emotions, and reactions as they arise.
Couples therapy often becomes two people doing individual work side by side—an opportunity for both relational and individual growth. I’ll meet you with care and honesty, and when the time feels right, gently encourage you to go deeper, especially in moments where you may feel stuck or blocked.
EMDR is a core part of my work, helping you process and heal the experiences that continue to shape how you feel, respond, and connect.
As you begin to heal individually, you create more space for clarity, connection, and ease together.
