It’s not just about communication or conflict resolution.
Something deeper is keeping you stuck.
Even without a major traumatic event, your nervous system can carry experiences that shape how you show up in your relationship.
Sometimes, the deepest wounds are the quietest ones—subtle, unseen, but powerful.

same place.
If any of this feels familiar, unresolved hurt from the past may be influencing your present:
-
It feels hard to fully relax in the relationship—like you’re always waiting for something to go wrong.
-
There is a sense of frustration and confusion, making it difficult to communicate effectively. This heightened emotional response often leads to unnecessary tension.
-
One or both of you might pull away emotionally, finding it hard to be vulnerable or share feelings. This can stem from fear of being hurt again.
-
This can be physical or emotional. If there's a reluctance to get close, it could be because of past traumas related to intimacy.
Living in the past? Avoiding each other? Wondering if things can really change?
Then you’re in the right place. Change is possible.
Hi, I’m Mary. I specialize in relational therapy, with a focus on Developmental Couples Therapy (DCT) – a trauma-informed approach that addresses the root cause of constant arguments, emotional disconnection, and the lingering effects of past trauma.
When those intense moments show up—the shutdowns, the arguments, the feeling of being stuck—we don’t just manage them. We gently go underneath the surface to understand and heal what’s driving them.
My work is collaborative, supportive, and tailored to your relationship—so you can move forward with more clarity, connection, and understanding.
Every relationship is unique, and our work together will be too.
-
Go beyond communication tips and get to the root of what’s keeping you stuck. This approach helps you understand the deeper patterns in your relationship so you can create real, lasting change together.
-
If you’re feeling unsure about whether to stay or separate, this process offers space to slow down, reflect, and gain clarity – without pressure or immediate decisions.
-
A trauma-focused approach that helps you process and heal from past experiences that may still be affecting your emotions, reactions, and relationships. EMDR supports lasting change by working with the brain and nervous system, not just thoughts.
How I Can Help
How It Works
Let’s connect.
Schedule a free consultation so we can get to know each other and see if we’re a good fit. This is a space for you to ask questions about therapy, share your goals, and talk through what you’re looking for.
01Decide to commit.
Once you’ve chosen to move forward, this is where meaningful change begins. If you’re entering couples therapy, take time to talk with your partner and align your intentions to actively work on your relationship for at least three months (with many processes lasting 3–6 months), meeting weekly or every other week.
02Let’s do this!
Whether in person, virtual, or a blend of both, we can begin working together to connect, collaborate, and create meaningful change in your relationship.
