What to Expect

A clear, supportive path forward

A simple guide to the process, investment, and answers to
common questions, so you can feel prepared and at ease.

How It Works

Let’s connect.

Schedule a free consultation so we can get to know each other and see if we’re a good fit. This is a space for you to ask questions about therapy, share your goals, and talk through what you’re looking for.

01

Decide to commit.

Once you’ve chosen to move forward, this is where meaningful change begins. If you’re entering couples therapy, take time to talk with your partner and align your intentions to actively work on your relationship for at least three months (with many processes lasting 3-6 months), meeting weekly or every other week.

02

Let’s do this!

Whether in person, virtual, or a blend of both, we can begin working together to connect, collaborate, and create meaningful change in your relationship.

  • 24/7 online scheduling through a client portal that also allows you to send private messages or upload important things you wish to share with me

  • Being a priority as I only work with a small group of people at a time to ensure personalized and attentive treatment

  • Private messaging as needed through a HIPAA compliant mobile app

FAQ

  • Our first meeting is a chance to get to know each other.

We’ll talk about what brings you in, what’s been weighing on you, and what you’d like to be different in your life. You don’t need to have everything figured out—or even know exactly how to put it into words. We’ll take it at your pace.

  • Sessions are once a week in the beginning and move to every other week, then monthly or as needed depending on progress. We always consider the resources of time and money and tailor the sessions to best fit your needs.

The length of therapy typically ranges from 3 to 12 months, depending on your needs and goals.

  • Developmental Couples Therapy is designed for couples who are ready to work on the relationship and want to better understand and change the patterns that are keeping them stuck. This approach focuses on deeper emotional work—helping you explore past experiences, process underlying triggers, and build a more secure, connected relationship.

Discernment Counseling, on the other hand, is for couples who feel uncertain about the future—especially when one partner is leaning out and the other wants to stay. Instead of focusing on repair right away, this process helps you gain clarity and decide whether to move toward reconciliation or separation.

  • Yes. At times, individual therapy can be an important part of the process—especially when deeper experiences are impacting how you show up in the relationship. EMDR is often used to support this work.

  • EMDR is individual therapy. These sessions focus on your personal healing process, which often leads to shifts in how you feel, respond, and show up in your relationships.

  • Your privacy matters deeply here.

What you share in therapy is personal, and this space is designed to be one where you can speak openly without fear of judgment or exposure. As a general rule, everything we talk about in our sessions is kept confidential.

That means your information is not shared with others without your written permission.

    When Confidentiality Has Limits

There are a few important exceptions to confidentiality, required by law and professional ethics.

These situations are rare, but it’s important that you’re aware of them:

    • If there is a concern about serious harm to yourself or someone else

    • If there is suspected abuse or neglect of a child, elderly person, or vulnerable adult

    • If records are required by a court order or legal process

If any of these situations arise, I will make every effort to talk with you about what steps need to be taken whenever possible.

  • Sessions are available both in person in Greenville, SC and online across South Carolina.

  • I am an out-of-network provider, which means payment is due at the time of service. I can provide a superbill for you to submit to your insurance for possible reimbursement.

  • We ask that you provide at least 24 hours' advance notice when you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment. For example, if your appointment is scheduled for Tuesday at 2:00 PM, please let us know by no later than Monday at 2:00 PM.

    Fees for Late Cancellations

Appointments canceled with less than 24 hours' notice will result in a $125 cancellation fee, which is billed directly to you

If you miss your appointment without any prior notice, you will be charged the $125 no-show fee.

  • Accepted forms of payment are credit, debit HSA cards and cash.

You don’t have to have it all together to begin. Showing up is enough.
